The European Union funded agro-ecology based aggradation-conservation agriculture: targeting innovations to combat soil degradation and food insecurity in semi-arid Africa project (ABACO: http://abaco.act-africa.org/) will have its mid-term global workshop and steering committee meeting from 26th - 28th February 2013. With confirmed attendance of 30 participants from all 9 project partners, the meetings will be held at Palm Beach hotel, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. Contributing events include:

International debate: Can Africa Feed Itself? What have we learnt over the past 40 years? Discussants drawn from prominent academicians, researchers, policy makers and development partners.
