African Conservation Tillage Network (ACT) in partnership with FAO Somalia conducted training of trainers to 18 extension staff from various organizations and ministry of Agriculture on sorghum transplanting and conservation agriculture technologies. The training took place at in Hargeisa, Somalia from 2nd to 7th of September 2012

The training objective was to building the desired capacity and ability of agricultural extension and research staff in the development and promotion of conservation agriculture (CA) technologies. Specifically:
- To enhance understanding of the principles of Conservation Agriculture (CA) as the new way of farming.
- To provide practical knowledge and skills in the application of CA practices for different socio-economic and agro-ecological environments to enable participants to respond competently to farmers’ needs.
- To provide the participants with approaches and methodologies necessary to enhance documentation and wide scale adoption of profitable CA.
- To strengthen competency of the participants to facilitate learning of CA by CA support staff.
