Up-coming Farmers’ Field day Events - Laikipia County, Kenya

The African Conservation Tillage Network (ACT) is a Pan-African not-for-profit organization that stimulates, facilitates and enhances mutual sharing of information and knowledge on experiences or lessons on promotion of Conservation Agriculture in Africa. ACT brings together stakeholders and players who are dedicated to improving agricultural productivity through sustainable utilization of natural resources of land and water in Africa’s farming systems.

In Laikipia County ACT is implementing a project funded by AGRA under the name “Conservation Agriculture for Food Security and Profitability in Machakos and Laikipia County”. The project is being implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, KARI, and other stakeholders that target to empower the small scale farmers and has established 124 CA demonstration plots in Laikipia East Sub County.

To empower more farmers and stakeholders on the CA technology ACT in collaboration with Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (KALRO) and the County Agriculture Office, Laikipia have planned for several Farmers’ Field Days to be held on the following dates and venues.

  1. Umande Maili nane Kalalu Jane muthee’s farm at Maili-nane shopping centre (about 10 Km past Nanyuki) on the 30th July 2015
  2. Tigithi Solio village 4 Solio Salome Ndungu’s farm NaroMoru town on the 5th Aug 2015
  3. Ngobit Suguroi Dam Wiyumiririe Margaret wangui’s farm Wiyumiririe town (along Nyeri-Nyahururu road) near PCEA church on the 13th Aug 2015

ACT wishes to invite you to participate in this field day. All field days will start at 9.30am to 1.30pm for stands visitation and closing speeches from 1.30 – 3.00 pm.
