Mr. Edward Chuma is a Process Facilitator and founder member of The Institute for People, Innovation and Change in Organisations (PICO) Southern Africa.He has over twenty years’ experience with special focus to interactive innovation development on the facilitation of sustainable development of resource poor communities and the application of experiential learning and participatory development principles to soil and water management in particular and sustainable integrated natural resources management.

He has served as a dissemination specialist, networking facilitator, researcher, lecturer and facilitator of learning under the National Extension Department in Zimbabwe, Agritex and the University of Zimbabwe in the areas of Soil and Water Conservation, Conservation tillage and Participatory Extension Approaches (PEA). He has also taken on and successfully executed several consultancy assignments in Zimbabwe, the East and Southern Africa region.

In addition Mr Chuma has been involved in networking and participated as a member and in leadership positions of several research and dissemination networks. These include – Soil Fertility Network of Southern Africa, Association of Farming Systems Research and Extension (Country coordinator), World Association of Soil and Water Conservation (regional contact person) and Soil Fertility Consortium of Southern Africa (SOFESCA).


He holds a DPhil from the university of Zimbabwe; MSc Agricultural Engineering (Soil and water Engineering option) from Cranfield Institute of Technology Silsoe, England and a BSC Agriculture Honours (Soil Science) from the University of Zimbabwe.
