ACT Participates in the Nairobi International trade fair held on 4th -7th October 2012. The international trade fair was officially launched by His Excellency Mwai Kibaki, President of the Republic of Kenya.
This event was mainly aimed at providing means and ways of eradicating food insecurity in the country by providing opportunity for research institutions, business firms and the Ministry of agriculture. The African Conservation Tillage Network in collaboration with the ministry of agriculture teamed up to empower and educate farmers on a better approach to farming (Conservation agriculture).
Some of the visitors to the ACT stand were representatives of organizations from AIRC, ATDC, KOAN, GIZ, KIE, Academic institutions also represented included JKUAT and UoN.
There was keen interest in adopting more environmentally friendly ways of farming like conservation agriculture which also helps mitigation against adverse impacts of climate change.
