The 6th World Congress on Conservation Agriculture kicks off today in Winnipeg, Manitoba with a gathering of conservation-minded individuals from around the world. The event will run till the end of the week with the objective of promoting the practical application of conservation practices to improve the sustainability of agriculture.
The program is designed to highlight the latest developments in research, the success stories of farmers around the world and the policy issues that confront governments and societies on this planet. The goal is also to showcase new sustainable innovations that can be applied by the participants to their own farms when they return home, to create exciting new research opportunities as a result of sharing and to help those who frame policy to better understand how to successfully encourage the rapid adoption of conservation agriculture practices around the globe.
The African Conservation Tillage Network is represented to this event by the Executive Secretary and Regional Coordinator East and Horn of Africa. ACT will be presenting a paper, during session 9, titled "Conservation Agriculture for Building Resilient Farming Systems in Africa: Extracts of the Lusaka 25by25 Congress Declaration"
