Conservation Agriculture Excellence Awards - Extended Deadline 28th February, 2014

The CA Awards is an innovation of the First Africa Congress on Conservation Agriculture (IACCA) to honor and recognize the contribution of individuals and organizations in Conservation Agriculture, as well as raise awareness on the different experiences in Conservation Agriculture in Africa.

During the 2014 IACCA, FOUR distinct categories of awards will be recognized.

  • The Conservation Agriculture Challenge Award
  • The Media Award
  • Upcoming Conservation Agriculture Farmer Award
  • Conservation Agriculture Champions Award

1. The Conservation Agriculture Challenge Award

This category will honor ONE CA Champion

Nominations for the CA Award may be submitted by individuals, Organizations or regional bodies

Responsibilities of Nominator:

  • Contact Nominee well before nomination deadline to inform candidate that a nomination document is being prepared.
  • Fill in nomination form and assemble required supporting documents.
  • Submit online nomination form
  • email supporting documents to the Congress organizing committee at cacongress@act-africa.org with the subject heading CA AWARD

Note: Support from a community leader or head of an organization will strengthen the nomination.

Responsibilities of Nominee:

  • Approve request to be nominated for the CA Award.
  • Forward approved request to Awardscongress@act-africa.org

2. The Media Award

This category will honor ONE Journalist and ONE Media House

Journalist

  • Must belong to registered Media house in Africa
  • Is a certified practicing Journalist
  • Has contributed significantly to raising awareness about CA with objectivity and insight through articles, publications, and reports in both local and foreign media, talk shows documentary production.
  • The work has invoked debate or critic in the way CA is practiced in Africa

Media House

  • Must be a registered media house in Africa.
  • Has consistently aired CA related News, documentary over the last three years.

3. Upcoming CA Farmer Award

This category will award FIVE CA Farmer champions (selection will be, One CA farmer each from Southern Africa, Eastern Africa, Central Africa, West Africa and North Africa)

  • The farmer must be practicing CA in Africa
  • Can be a Youth Farmer, a Woman farmer or an elderly farmer
  • Should be able to demonstrate when they changed from conventional farming to CA

Submission

  • Submitting format should be in a Video clip, with supporting documents like certificates of recognition, training in CA and photographs that depict your participation.
  • Documents like publications where one has been profiled are acceptable.

Submit nomination form and required supporting documents to the Awards committee at cacongress@act-africa.orgwith the subject heading Upcoming CA Farmer AWARD

4. CA Champions Award

This category will honor an Individual or Organization who has championed the cause of CA in Africa.

Nominations for the CA Award may be submitted by individuals, Organizations or regional bodies

  • Contact Nominee well before nomination deadline to inform candidate you are nominating them.
  • Fill in nomination form and assemble required supporting documents.
  • Submit nomination form and required supporting documents to the Congress organizing committee at cacongress@act-africa.org with the subject heading CA AWARD
