On 24th -26th July 2012 the Global Mechanism (GM) of UNCCD, the Secretariats of the Common Market for East and Southern Africa (COMESA), the East African Community (EAC), and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), organized a workshop in Nairobi Kenya on the theme "Strengthening National Capacities to Increase Finance and Investments into Sustainable Land Management and Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation: Opportunities from Climate Change Financing Mechanisms".

The workshop built linkages to on-going country and sub-regional level processes supported by the GM, COMESA, EAC and SADC. African conservation Tillage Network was one of the key participants during this event.
