Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa (CCARDESA) is a Sub -Regional Organisation (SRO) established in 2011 by Member States in the SADC region with the objective to address agricultural R&D issues in line with Pillar 4 of CAADP as well as specific regional priority issues summarised in the Dar Es Salaam Declaration on food security
CCARDESA coordinate agricultural R&D to promote technology generation and dissemination, which will contribute to improved food security in the region. It provide a platform for scaling up access to and adoption of technologies. Specifically, CCARDESA will coordinate implementation of the SADC Multi-country Agricultural Productivity Programme (SADC MAPP), which will translate CAADP Pillar 4 into R&D activities.
