ACT's objectives include the following:
- To update, broaden and make more active the ACT membership and farmer networks
- To capture, synthesize and bank CA knowledge and disseminate/share widely with stakeholders
- To emphasize on building-up local human capital through empowering farmers in own on-farm experimentation, monitoring, evaluation and learning
- To lobby governments, institutions and donor support for Conservation Agriculture
- To forge strategic partnerships (with NEPAD, National Governments, and NGO's) for interventions that will elevate farmers beyond crop productivity to diversifying to better income generation enterprises, and commercial farming.
- To network and assist farmers with CA incentive schemes, cost sharing of risks and access to CA inputs/equipment, and
- To make visible and strike supportive links of CA to niche sectors (energy and hydropower watershed management, environment, and climate change)
